Log Hive Safety
Making and fitting Log Hives to the designs shown on our website involves exposure to serious hazards and should not be attempted by anyone without suitable qualifications and experience.

A comprehensive risk assessment must be carried out by a suitably qualified safety professional before any work is undertaken.

Experience and qualifications in chainsaw use, tree climbing, working at height, rope-work, tree-work and load handling are essential.
Any tools or equipment used for cutting the log, lifting and securing the hive or accessing the tree should be certified suitable for lifting logs of the size chosen and commensurate weight and must be properly maintained, safety tested and in good repair prior to any works taking place.
Log hiving courses are provided in the UK at https://beekindhives.uk
